Barcelona hidden details - Picasso's frescos

Barcelona Hidden Picasso Frescos

Barcelona Amazing Picasso Frescos
Lots of people walk by the enormous frescos that decorate the Barcelona Architects association without knowing they are passing by a work of art by Picasso.

Drawn on paper by the artist, and transformed by Norwegian sculptor and photographer Carl Nesjar, who was responsible for transferring the drawings onto concrete plaques, thanks to pressurized sandblasting.

The creation of these frescoes in 1962 caused controversy in conservative media and the church hierarchy, who did not appreciate this exiled artist who was openly opposed to the Franco dictatorship, and who requested the suspension of the project because of its proximity to the cathedral.

-> Discover these frescos during the tour "The Gothic quarter".

-> Read more about their installation in "el País" (in Spanish).
