Barcelona Ramblas La Casa de los paraguas
Almost all tourists that stroll along the Ramblas stop to take one or more photos of this singular building called "the umbrella house".

Decorated in oriental style the building is dated 1883, owned by Bruno Cuadros, who also owned the umbrella shop situated on the ground floor of the building. The building was renewed by the architect Josep Vilaseca during the years preceding the Universal expo of 1888, the modernist movement was starting, and also the interest in all oriental things.

An eclectic and colorful mix inspired by Egyptian symbols, representations of umbrellas, fans, Japonese prints and a huge Chinese dragon in steel, compose this façade that does not go unseen.
