Homage to Gaudi by Tokyo Ito.

On the prestigious Passeig de Gracia avenue, opposite the Gaudí modernist building "La Pedrera", rises this spectacular ultra-modern facade, breaking with the classicism of the surrounding buildings. This property is a set of luxury apartments called "Suites Avenue", the aluminum facade was built by the famous Japanese architect Tokyo Ito.



At its opening in 2009, Tokyo Ito admitted to being a great admirer of Gaudi; the facade had been conceived as a tribute to the "master". According to Tokyo Ito the XXI century will be an era of organic architecture, dominated by organic and rounded shapes, as the Gaudi buildings, who found his inspiration in nature…

In Barcelona, you can find other Tokyo Ito buildings, such as the expansion of the Barcelona fairgrounds and the Torres Fira buildings: the Realia Tower and Hotel Porta Fira in Plaza Europa, in front of the fairgrounds. These two buildings can be seen at the entrance to Barcelona on the way from the airport.
